LENDonate is a marketplace that connects philanthropists (lenders) with nonprofit organizations (borrowers), making impact investing more approachable. LENDonate’s founders were determined to make the process of investing in nonprofits simple, transparent, and rewarding, empowering individuals to make a difference in the world through impactful contributions.

To reflect the mission of the company and appeal to both lenders and borrowers, the website was redesigned to make impact investing feel less daunting. LENDonate’s website had to overcome the challenge of typical finance platforms, which often overwhelm users with information, leaving users feeling uncertain about where to start. LENDonate wanted to change that perception and provide a welcoming, informative, and easy-to-navigate platform.

The website’s design broke away from conventional high-finance aesthetics. Rather than using stock imagery and muted tones, we introduced bold colors like navy and forest green, paired with vector illustrations to represent the positive impact of investing. These illustrations—depicting cleaner environments, schools, food security, healthcare, and construction—helped communicate the broader effects of impact investing.

To reinforce the message of simplicity and accessibility, the website was designed to make text more digestible. Long paragraphs of text were broken into smaller, easy-to-read sections, with illustrations accompanying key pieces of information. The overall tone was helpful and friendly, but not overly casual. It aimed to empower both lenders and borrowers with the confidence they need to take action and engage in the process.

With a more approachable interface, LENDonate is now better positioned to expand its network and drive positive change through its marketplace.
